What's the Difference Between Pro V1 and Pro V1x Golf Balls?

Windy conditions? The Pro V1x cuts through the wind better, at least for me. I think it has a lower ball flight which helps in those blustery days.

That’s a good point about the wind, @ttorres! I find the Pro V1 is great for control but can balloon a bit if I don’t keep my swing steady.

I’m a beginner and am still understanding all these subtleties. What would you recommend for someone still gaining confidence with their drives?

For beginners, the Pro V1x might be a better choice. It provides more distance and offers a bit more forgiveness on mis-hits, which is perfect for learning.

That makes sense! I feel like I could use all the help I can get with my drives right now. Thanks!

I have to say, while I love the Pro V1 for feel, it’s a little frustrating when the wind picks up. I could use a Pro V1x today, just to keep it low!

Haha, I feel you on that, @kennethhayes! It’s like Mother Nature is testing your skills when you least expect it. Still, Pro V1 gives such a great feel on those tap-in putts!

That’s true! The feel of the Pro V1 is unmatched for putting. But it’s all about what fits your style at the end of the day.

I’m curious about how each performs with different clubs. Anyone feel a difference with their hybrids or long irons?

I’ve noticed the Pro V1 tends to perform better with hybrids for me, offering more consistent contact and slight spin. However, I prefer the Pro V1x for long irons.

It’s fascinating how personal preference and swing style impact ball choice. Have you all tried any other brands, or are you strictly Pro V1 and V1x fans?

I’m strictly Pro V1 and V1x. I feel they just work best for my game. I’d be open to trying others if anyone has recommendations though!

The main difference between Pro V1 and Pro V1x is the ball flight and softness. Pro V1 tends to have a lower flight with a softer feel, making it better for precision players. If you prefer control around the greens, go for Pro V1.

I totally agree! I also find that the Pro V1x might be better for players who are looking for more distance. It’s got a slightly firmer feel which can help with longer shots.

Honestly, the choice really depends on your skill level. Higher handicappers might benefit from the Pro V1x as it offers more forgiveness on off-center hits. Pro V1 is great for advanced players who can maintain control.

Definitely! I noticed a significant difference in my game when switching to Pro V1. It really enhances feel and feedback, especially on chips and putts. Pro V1x just lacks that soft touch for me.

For me, it’s all about preference. Some players love a firmer ball, while others want that buttery feel. Isn’t it fun to experiment with both to see how they work with your swing? What’s great is that you can test both and know your preference!

This thread is really insightful! As a medium handicapper, I’ve switched to Pro V1x and noticed better distance on my drives. Does anyone else find Pro V1x soars higher than Pro V1? It could be a game-changer for me!

Absolutely! The Pro V1x has a higher launch angle, which can help with those longer holes. Just remember that it’s a bit firmer, so adjust your swing accordingly.

I’m on the fence! I like the softer feel of Pro V1 but keep hearing rave reviews about the distance of Pro V1x. Maybe it’s time for a test drive! Any recommendations on how to test these out?
