Hey everyone! I’ve been in the market for a new hybrid and fairway wood. There are so many options out there, and it’s a bit overwhelming. What are your favorites and why? Any recommendations would be super helpful!
Great question! I’ve personally had a lot of success with the Callaway Rogue Hybrids. They’re really forgiving and help me get that extra distance I need. As for fairway woods, the TaylorMade SIM MAX is awesome - great mix of distance and feel.
I agree with you on the Callaway hybrids. They’ve improved my long game significantly. What’s your take on the sound and feel of the SIM MAX?
The Ping G425 hybrid has been a game-changer for me. It’s very easy to hit and super reliable. For fairway woods, I swear by the Titleist TSi2. It’s a bit pricier, but worth every penny!
Seconding the Titleist TSi2. The consistency and control are unmatched. Anyone tried the Cobra RADSPEED fairway wood?
I’ve recently switched to the Cobra RADSPEED hybrid, and I love it! It feels very balanced and has improved my accuracy.
I was considering the RADSPEED too! How does it compare to the older F9 model? Is it worth the upgrade?
If you’re on a budget, the older models can still perform very well. I had my best rounds with the Cobra King F8 hybrid. The newer models probably have slight improvements but might not be worth the extra cost for everyone.
Too true! My old Adams Tight Lies hybrid still serves me well. Sometimes sticking with what works is best.
Anyone else trying out some of the new 2023 models? I heard the Mizuno ST-Z hybrids are getting great reviews for their feel. Thinking of testing one out.
They’re fantastic! I picked one up last month, and I love the feel and response. It’s definitely worth trying!
I still trust my old Callaway Steelhead XR Hybrid. It’s been super reliable and I see no need to upgrade yet. Sometimes the classics are the best!
Couldn’t agree more! I have a Steelhead 3 wood that’s been my go-to for years. Why fix what isn’t broken?
Has anyone given the Wilson Staff Model Hybrids a try? They seem to be underrated and I’m curious how they stack up against more popular models.
Yes! They’re actually quite good - very forgiving and decent distance. Don’t overlook them just because they’re not as hyped.
To all the contributors here, this thread has been incredibly helpful. Never realized there were so many good hybrids and fairway woods out there. What would you say is the most important factor when choosing a new club?
For me, it’s definitely the feel and confidence you have when swinging. You need to trust your club entirely.
Feel is important, but don’t overlook fitting sessions. Getting fitted can make a significant difference in performance. It’s an investment that pays off.
I couldn’t agree more. I got fitted for my Ping G series and saw an immediate improvement. It’s definitely worth it.
Having gone through this thread, I’d suggest also checking out online reviews and videos. They offer a lot of insight and can help you get a feel for what might suit your game.
