The 'Ladies-only' Charity golf day for a great cause...

I received a very moving email this week from a lovely lady called Helen Taylorson, a fellow member of Burhill Golf Club, asking me whether I could help raise awareness of a ladies-only charity golf day she organises and runs at the club every year for the charity DEBRA.
Helen explained: "My husband and I have been involved with helping DEBRA increase their income since our son was born over 22 years ago. We felt so blessed to have a healthy child when good friends had a son born with Dystrophic EB - one of the most severe forms of this dreadful skin blistering condition.

"Most charity golf days are for men and corporate teams but I decided some years ago that organising a ladies only golf day was a great way of raising awareness, raising some money and also having some fun.
"This year our sponsorship partners include www.offtheredtees.com, Lancôme, Knight Frank offices in Guildford and Ascot and Luxury Partners. On the day the ladies play a four ball betterball, have lunch, a little retail therapy, cosmetic demos and so on. This year for non-golfers we are selling a 3-hour clinic with Burhill teaching professional James Winstanley followed by lunch as a way of encouraging more ladies to take up golf and to still take part in the day.
"Although entries are flooding in I can never sit back and relax until the day is full, so I am inviting all ladies to please enter a team and come and join us for a fantastic fun and worthwhile golf day."
The DEBRA Burhill Ladies Silver Salvers Day takes place on Wednesday 25th April at Burhill Golf Club and costs £80 per person/£160 per pair. To book your place contact DEBRA golf day organiser Hannah Weston on: Hannah.Weston@debra.org.uk or Helen Taylorson on: helen.taylorson@btinternet.com
