Any Recommendations for Public Golf Courses in Port St. Lucie?

I’m planning a golf outing in Port St. Lucie, Florida, and I’m on the hunt for some great public golf courses to play. I’ve heard a few names thrown around, but I’m really looking for some comprehensive advice and personal experiences.

Course Recommendations

If you have a favorite public course in the area, could you share why you love it? I’m particularly interested in:

  • Course difficulty: Are the holes challenging enough to keep me on my toes?
  • Tee time availability: How easy is it to book a tee time, especially on weekends?
  • Facilities: What kind of amenities do they offer? I appreciate good practice ranges and clubhouses.
  • Scenic views: I love courses that are pleasing to the eye. Any recommendations?

Personal Experiences

If you’ve played in Port St. Lucie before, how was your experience? Any tips on navigating the courses or suggestions on what to bring?

Thanks in advance for your help! Looking forward to your replies.

If you’re looking for public golf courses in Port St. Lucie, I highly recommend PGA Golf Club. It features three beautiful courses and is super well-maintained. Pricing is reasonable for the quality, usually around $75-$150 depending on the day.

I second that! The layout is challenging but fun. Perfect for both beginners and experienced golfers.

Don’t forget about Legacy Golf & Tennis Club! It has a picturesque setting and less crowded fairways. Prices start around $50, making it budget-friendly. I’ve had some of my best rounds there.

How does the weather affect play at these courses? Do you find it difficult to play during the summer months, or is it manageable?

It can get pretty hot, but early morning tee times usually help. Just make sure to hydrate!

If you’re a fan of good food after a round, you can’t miss the dining at the courses. PGA Golf Club has a nice restaurant! It’s the perfect reward after a tough game.

Right?! I made the mistake of skipping lunch one time… learned my lesson. Always grab a burger after that 18!

The quality of the greens at these places can vary. Have you ever played where the greens were just awful? It can ruin the experience. Anyone had bad experiences?

Yes! I once played at a local course, and it was a disaster. But, thankfully, both PGA and Legacy have great greens.

For a humorous spin, I like to say I’m just out there making the course look good—not that I’m very good myself! Anyone else have those moments on the course?

I recommend checking out the Santa Lucia River Club! It’s pretty beginner-friendly and has a nice layout. Just make sure to bring your own clubs if you’re starting out!

Great tip! Also, don’t forget to wear golf shoes for better grip. Helps a lot on the greens!

As a beginner, I found that proper etiquette is key. Always let faster groups play through and keep conversations quiet around others teeing off.

Exactly! And if you’re not sure, just watch what the more experienced players do. It’s a great way to learn the ropes.

Are there any specific local shops for renting equipment? My friend is coming to visit and just wants to try it out.

Yes! Check out Golf Galaxy or Dick’s Sporting Goods. They both have rentals. Plus, they can give you tips on essentials for beginners.

That sounds perfect! But don’t forget, you might also be able to borrow from friends if they have extras.

I recently took lessons from a local pro at PGA Golf Club. It’s been a game-changer for my swing! Highly recommend looking into lessons.
