Anyone know which golf courses are open on Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and I’m trying to find out if there are any golf courses open for play that day. I’m really looking forward to getting a round in, but I know that many places might close for the holiday.

Here are a few things I’m particularly interested in:

  • Golf Courses: What local courses are known to be open on Thanksgiving? If you have any personal experiences, I’d love to hear about them.
  • Tee Times: Are there usually any special booking rules for Thanksgiving? Should I reserve a tee time in advance?
  • Promotions or Events: Do you know of any golf courses offering special deals or events on Thanksgiving? It would be great to play somewhere with a fun atmosphere!

If you have recommendations or suggestions, please share! It would make my holiday a lot more enjoyable to hit the links with fellow golf lovers. Thanks in advance for your help!

I called around last week and found out that the Green Valley Golf Club will be open on Thanksgiving from 8 AM to 3 PM. They have some morning tee times available! You might want to book in advance though.

That’s great news! Does anyone know if the River Bend course has similar hours? I’m curious if they offer any Thanksgiving specials.

I checked with River Bend last year, and they were open from 9 AM to 2 PM. They might do something similar, but it’s best to call them directly! Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, Yang! How’s the course condition this time of year? I’ve heard some courses can be a bit rough.

I’ve played River Bend in the fall, and it was pretty good! Just make sure to wear an extra layer; it can get chilly out there. Betting on a low round this Thanksgiving, hopefully!

If you haven’t already, check out the online booking for local courses! Is there any fee for booking on Thanksgiving? I wonder if they increase rates on holidays, hah!

Great question, T! Some places might charge a holiday rate. I think it’s worth calling ahead to avoid surprises.

The local courses are getting packed for Thanksgiving! I’d suggest checking tee times early, or else you might end up stuck playing mini-golf instead! :joy:

Haha, true, David! I really don’t want to play mini-golf! Planning to call a few more courses today. Anyone tried checking on Tee Time Wizard? I heard they can help with bookings.

Yes, Tee Time Wizard is pretty effective! I’ve used it for my bookings at various courses. It’s user-friendly, so definitely check it out. Planning to put my name in for Thanksgiving today, fingers crossed.

Good luck, Rachael! Remember to check out some of the smaller courses too; they might have more availability than the bigger ones. Every swing counts on Thanksgiving!

I’m not sure about specific courses, but many places offer holiday promotions. Be sure to check their websites for Thanksgiving specials!

Some courses in my area have special family rates for Thanksgiving, so it’s definitely worth asking!

Last year, a local course offered a Thanksgiving tournament with discounts for groups. Might be fun to look for similar events this year!

That’s a great point! I’ll have to check if any of the golf courses are doing something similar this Thanksgiving.

I hope a course nearby does something fun on Thanksgiving! I’m also curious if they have a Thanksgiving lunch package while you play.

I’m really hoping for discounts too! With so many things getting pricier, a deal would make it more enjoyable to hit the links during the holidays.

If you’re looking for deals, I recommend checking social media too. Many golf courses promote special packages there, especially around the holidays.

That’s true! Last year, I found a course that offered free carts with a Thanksgiving tee time. Check those deals!
