Anyone tried the Pro V1 Black Dot? Need some insights!

I’ve been hearing a lot about the Titleist Pro V1 golf balls with the black dot marking, and I’m really curious about them. It seems like they might have some unique characteristics compared to the standard Pro V1s, but I’m not entirely sure.

Here are a few things I’d love to get feedback on:

  • Performance: Do they really play differently? I’m keen on knowing if they lend any advantages in terms of distance, spin, or control.
  • Origins: What’s the story behind the black dot? Are these balls part of a special lineup, or is it just a cosmetic change?
  • Price: Have you found any good deals? I’d like to snag a box if they’re worth the investment.

Any personal experiences or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I’ve been using the Pro V1 Black Dot for a few months now. The distance is impressive, especially off the driver. It really seems to enhance both speed and control.

That’s great to hear! How does it perform on short approaches? I’m considering it for spin control around the greens.

I’ve also found the feel to be top-notch! The ball has a soft touch, which really boosts confidence on delicate chips and putts.

I agree! It feels amazing on the greens. However, I’m curious if it tends to scuff easily. Any thoughts?

As far as spin control goes, it’s fantastic! Whether on tight courses or wide-open ones, I find it manageable.

That’s interesting! Have you played it in wet conditions? Curious how it holds up in those situations.

I played the Black Dot in a downpour, and it performed admirably. The distance didn’t drop much, even when soaked. Great versatility!

That’s reassuring! What about its performance on links courses? Any notable experiences?

On links courses, it feels predictable. The roll and bounce were consistent. Definitely a solid choice if you’re hitting hard off the tee.

That’s a good point! Does anyone find it gets enough distance when using a hybrid?

I’ve used it with hybrids, and I got great distance! It feels like I can really chunk it, and still see solid results.

I love that! But can it outdo those other luxury brands? Seems hard to beat!

It’s a tough competition! The Pro V1 Black Dot offers a great blend of performance and feel, but it really comes down to personal preference. Can’t help but feel it edges out others for me!

I’ve been playing with the Pro V1 Black Dot for a few months now. I find it performs really well in terms of spin and control, especially around the greens. It feels softer than the Pro V1 White Dot, which I love. Highly recommend giving it a try!

I agree, the feel is superb! However, I’ve read some reviews suggesting that it might not provide the same distance as the White Dot version. Has anyone else noticed this?

I switched from the Pro V1 White Dot to the Black Dot and I feel it’s more forgiving on off-center hits. It’s worth the price for that alone! Plus, I find it easier to control on tight approaches.

That’s interesting, garciaadam! I was considering switching to the Black Dot but worried it would be too much of a change from what I’m used to. How do you think it stacks up against other brands like Callaway or TaylorMade?

I’ve played with both the Callaway Chrome Soft and the Black Dot. Honestly, I prefer the feel of the Black Dot, but the Chrome Soft is slightly longer off the tee for me. Price-wise, the Pro V1 Black Dot is totally justifiable for the performance.

Definitely agree with the price point, angela44. Many players swear by Pro V1 for good reason. However, some argue that other balls offer similar performance at a lower cost. What do you all think is the sweet spot for price versus performance?
