How Much Does Dick's Charge to Regrip Clubs?

I’m looking to get my golf clubs regripped and wanted to find out how much Dick’s Sporting Goods charges for this service. I’ve heard some mixed reviews about pricing and quality from different places, so I’m curious if anyone has had recent experiences with regripping at Dick’s.

Factors to Consider

  • Quality of Grips: Does anyone know if Dick’s offers a variety of grip options, or is it just the basic ones?
  • Turnaround Time: How long does it typically take to get the clubs back regripped?
  • Other Recommendations: If you’ve found better places for regripping at a decent price, feel free to share!

Why I’m Asking

I want to make sure I’m budgeting correctly for this, as I know golf can get expensive. If the prices at Dick’s are reasonable, that would be super convenient for me since it’s close to where I live. I’d appreciate any insights or recent experiences you all can share! Thanks in advance for your help!

I’ve heard Dick’s charges around $3-$5 per club for regripping. That’s pretty standard, but I wonder how that stacks up against local shops?

In my area, local golf shops charge anywhere from $4 to $7 per club. It really varies by location and service quality.

I just checked Dick’s website, and they have a flat rate for a complete regrip package at $49.99! That’s a deal, but they also charge extra for specific grips.

That’s a great price! Online services can charge up to $70 including shipping. I prefer getting it done locally when possible.

I personally love my local shop. They are at $4 per club, and they offer free grip upgrades sometimes. Plus, you get to chat with the pros there!

Does anyone know if Dick’s does bulk discounts for regripping? That could make a noticeable difference for those of us with lots of clubs!

Good question! I think for 10+ clubs, they might offer a discount. Might be worth asking directly.

I’ve seen some online services charge as low as $2.50 per grip but you end up waiting longer for shipping. What’s the best service in-person?

I find local shops much more personable! Plus, there’s less risk of receiving a damaged product during shipping. Definitely prefer in-person regripping.

Funny you mention that, my buddy tried an online service and received the wrong grips! Now he’s stuck using pink grips on his driver!

Ha! That’s a nightmare! I’d rather pay a bit more at Dick’s than risk that happening.

So, it seems like if you’re comparing prices, Dick’s is competitive with local shops, especially considering their customer service and expertise.

Absolutely! Plus, a lot of local shops will throw in a golf tip or two if you ask nicely.

Don’t overlook small businesses! They often have unique grip options that big stores like Dick’s don’t carry.

That’s true! I found a great custom grip at a local shop last summer. Can’t beat that personal touch!

I’ve had my clubs regripped at Dick’s and overall, I’m pretty satisfied. The grips have lasted me a full season without showing much wear. They charged me around $2 per grip, which I thought was reasonable.

That’s great to hear! I’ve heard mixed reviews about their durability. Maybe I should give it a try.

I got my clubs regripped there too. The workmanship was solid, but I wish I could’ve picked from a wider selection of grips. They seemed limited to a few brands.

That’s true! I had a similar experience. A bit more variety would be nice, but the quality was pretty good.
