Looking for Feedback on the Cleveland CG15 Wedge - Pros & Cons?

I’ve been considering adding a Cleveland CG15 Wedge to my golf bag and wanted to get some feedback from those who’ve used it. I’ve heard a lot about its performance, especially in short game situations, but I’m curious about what others think.

Key Points to Discuss:

  • Purchasing Options: Where did you buy yours? Are there any good deals on platforms like eBay or Golfbidder?
  • Performance: How does the CG15 perform around the greens? Is there a specific bounce option that you would recommend?
  • Usability: Has anyone noticed any specific swing weight characteristics that are worth mentioning?
  • Overall Experience: Do you think it’s worth the investment for an amateur golfer?

I’d appreciate any insights, tips, or personal experiences! Looking forward to your thoughts!

I’ve been using the Cleveland CG15 wedge for about a year now, and it’s fantastic for greenside bunkers. The spin control is impressive, even from sand. Highly recommend it!

That’s great to hear! I’ve struggled with sand shots in the past. How does it handle lighter sand compared to heavier sand?

From my experience, the CG15 performs well in both types of sand. The traction and design really help. However, I find it a bit tricky in thick rough; it sometimes tends to grab too much.

That’s interesting, as I actually prefer it in the rough! It feels like I can really make a solid connection and get the ball out effectively.

The CG15 excels on tight lies. I’ve noticed that I can play delicate shots with more confidence. It’s versatile enough for flop shots too!

So true! I love how it feels around the greens. Do you think it could benefit from more bounce options?

I think the bounce options are fine for most players, but I could see how a bit more variety would help different styles of play. Has anyone experienced it in wet conditions?

I used the CG15 during a rainy round, and it held up pretty well. The performance wasn’t too affected, but I prefer it in dry conditions for better spin control.

I find it funny that we’re all debating conditions when my biggest problem is my swing! But when I do hit it right, the feedback from the CG15 is great.

Haha, I can relate! Just need to be mindful of my alignment, and then the CG15 does the magic around the greens.

I’ve been playing with the CG15 for a while now, and I really love the spin it generates. It’s definitely more forgiving than some other models I’ve tried, like the Vokey SM7. Anyone else notice the difference in feel?

I agree! The CG15 feels great on impact, but the Vokey has its own charm when it comes to control. It really depends on your playing style.

I’ve tried both the CG15 and the Callaway MD5. For me, the CG15’s precision in short game shots is unmatched. The Callaway feels a bit harsher on those delicate chips.

That’s an interesting point! I found the MD5 has a nice texture that helps with spin. Has anyone else tried the Taylormade MG2? I’m curious about the feel compared to the CG15.

The Cleveland CG15 is fantastic for beginners because of its forgiveness. I started with this wedge and have found it improves my confidence on the green. Which Cleveland model do you think is best for a high handicapper?

Considering the CG15, I’d recommend the RTX models for improved control as you get better. They have increased spin and still retain forgiveness.

For me, it’s all about the feel. I found the CG15 a bit hard compared to the Mizuno T20. That one feels like butter! Anyone else notice this difference?

Totally! The T20 is like using a sweet spot every time. The CG15, while solid, lacks that buttery feel for me too.

I find the CG15 effective, but sometimes it doesn’t give me the spin I expect. Anyone else think the grooves wear out quickly compared to others like the Cleveland RTX?
