Looking for the Best Country Clubs in Illinois - Any Recommendations?

I second that! The social activities really enhance the golfing experience. It’s a great way to meet fellow golf enthusiasts!

Anyone tried The Chicago Golf Club? I’ve heard they have beautiful grounds and an incredible dining experience. Definitely on my list.

The Chicago Golf Club has a lot of history, and the ambiance is lovely. Their fitness facilities are decent, but the emphasis is definitely on golf!

I was a member at the Shoreacres Club. While it’s not the biggest, the community is really tight-knit, and the social events make it feel like family. Plus, the dining is superb.

Great to hear about Shoreacres! Do they offer fitness classes as well? I’m looking for that in addition to golfing and dining.

Yes, they have a pretty solid fitness program. It’s a bonus to help stay active throughout the year! Plus, you can relax after golf.

Honestly, I don’t understand the hype surrounding some of these clubs. I’ve heard mixed reviews about their service quality, especially with dining. What do you guys think?

I think every club has its ups and downs. It’s about finding the right fit for you. What amenities are most important to you?

I love the golf aspect, but for me, the social side is key! If the dining is bad, it can ruin the whole experience. I appreciate these insights!

What do you guys think about the amenities at the Oak Brook Club? I’ve heard they have a good mix of activities and they’re family-friendly!

Oak Brook is decent, but they could improve their dining experience. It’s okay, but it’s not the highlight of the club.

I think it’d be fun to join a club where they also have some events like trivia or themed dinners after golf. Any recommendations?

That sounds awesome! I’ve seen clubs that have family nights and wine tastings. Look for ones that highlight community involvement!

I highly recommend the Chicago Golf Club. Their initiation fees are on the higher side, around $100,000, but the amenities and exclusive events make it worth it if you can afford it.

Wow, that’s quite steep! Are there any country clubs with lower initiation fees but still decent perks?

The Glen Club in Glenview is a fantastic place too. Their initiation fee is about $50,000, and the annual dues aren’t too bad in comparison, plus they have excellent dining options.

Can you tell us more about the dining? How’s the atmosphere? I like to enjoy good food while relaxing.

The atmosphere at The Glen Club is really upscale but welcoming. They offer seasonal menus that highlight local ingredients, and the terrace is perfect for summer evenings.

I used to belong to the Oak Brook Country Club. Their membership is about $10,000 initiation and $4,000 annually. Lots of family-friendly events, which is nice if you have kids.

That sounds great! Do they have any golfing facilities for beginners?
