Looking for the Best Country Clubs in Illinois - Any Recommendations?

Hey everyone,

I’m on the hunt for the best country clubs in Illinois and would love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

What to Consider

When looking for a country club, I think there are a few key aspects that are really important:

  • Golf Course Quality: This is number one for me! Are the courses well-maintained? Do they offer a good challenge for golfers of different skill levels?
  • Amenities: Beyond golf, what else do they offer? Swimming pools, fitness centers, dining options?
  • Membership Options: Are there different tiers of membership? What’s included in each, and what’s the cost?
  • Overall Experience: How’s the atmosphere? Are the staff friendly and welcoming?

Questions for You

  • Which clubs have you had a great experience at?
  • Are there any hidden gems or clubs that are lesser-known but offer fantastic golf?
  • What should I watch out for when choosing a club?

I’d appreciate any feedback or reviews you all can provide! Looking forward to your recommendations and hope to explore some new places to enjoy golf in Illinois.

Thanks in advance for your help!
Happy golfing!

I highly recommend the Oak Brook Golf Club. The course design is top-notch, with a good mix of challenging holes and beautiful scenery. The maintenance is also excellent!

I agree, Oak Brook is a fantastic choice! Have you played at the 18th hole? It’s truly memorable.

If you’re looking for something different, check out Medinah Country Club. It’s famous for its challenging layout and has proudly hosted multiple major championships.

Medinah is a classic! The maintenance is exceptional, but it can be pricey. Worth every penny, though!

I recently played at The Glen Club, and I was impressed by the course’s design and difficulty. It’s challenging but fair, perfect for players looking to improve their game.

The Glen Club is on my bucket list! What’s the best time of year to play there?

I’d suggest checking out Butler National Golf Club. It’s a private club but well known for its impeccable maintenance and splendid layout. Just don’t forget to wear the right attire!

Butler National is fantastic! However, I’ve heard it can be tough to get a tee time.

I’m a huge fan of Crystal Lake Country Club. They have a beautiful course that’s well-maintained with variety in hole designs — the par 3s are especially fun!

Crystal Lake sounds great! Do they offer any promotions for new members?

I’ve played at several clubs in Illinois, but none quite match the experience at Spyglass Hill. The scenery is breathtaking, but it’s also quite challenging. Bring your A-game!

Sounds like a wonderful spot, but is it as tough as they say? I might need a couple of lessons before trying it!

For a fun day, try Prairie Landing Golf Club. The course is maintained well, and I’ve always had a good time there with friends. Great for a casual outing!

Love Prairie Landing! Plus, they have great food at the clubhouse. Always a bonus after a long round.

I have to throw in a recommendation for the Chicago Golf Club. It’s one of the oldest clubs and has a lovely layout. Just don’t expect a bustling atmosphere — it’s quite serene.

Serene is what I need! Anyone else have thoughts on the vibe there? Seems like a quiet retreat.

For country clubs in Illinois, I’ve heard great things about Medinah Country Club. They have top-notch amenities including a fantastic restaurant, spa, and even fitness classes. Worth checking out!

I’ve been a member there for a few years, and the dining options are exquisite! They also host social events that are a lot of fun.

I recommend the Glenview Park Golf Club. Their facilities are quite impressive and they have a great fitness center. Plus, they offer a lot of community activities.
