P770 vs T100: Which Iron Should I Choose?

I’ve been doing some research on the Taylormade P770 and the Titleist T100 irons, and I’m trying to figure out which one might be a better fit for my game. I’m looking for some detailed comparisons based on performance, feel, and overall suitability.

A Few Questions:

  • Feel and Feedback: Which model tends to provide better feedback during shots?
  • Distance and Forgiveness: How do these two compare in terms of distance and forgiveness? I’m not a pro, so I could use some help here.
  • Playing Style Adaptation: Given my swing characteristics (slightly steeper), do you think one might suit my style better?

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s had a chance to try both of these. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve played with both the P770 and T100. For distance, the P770 tends to give me a bit more. I found the T100 offers better control, especially on approach shots.

That’s interesting! I’ve heard the T100 really shines in accuracy. Do you think it’s worth it for a mid-handicap player?

For playability, I think it depends on your swing. The P770 feels more forgiving on mishits, which is why I prefer it as a high-handicapper.

That’s a good point! Forgiveness is key for me. What distances are you usually getting with the P770?

With the P770, I get about 10-15 yards more than with the T100, at least for my 7-iron. However, the T100 has that crisp feel on solid hits that can be hard to beat.

I love that ‘crisp’ feel! Can anyone compare that to the P770? Is it as satisfying?

The P770 definitely offers good feedback, but it doesn’t quite match the T100’s response when you hit it pure. If you like feel, T100 might be the way to go.

As a low handicapper, I can confirm the T100 is excellent for professionals or players looking for precision. It rewards good swings beautifully.

Both clubs seem good, but let’s be real; if I end up in a sand trap, I’m probably going to need either one to dig me out! :joy:

Haha! True! But between the two, do they help with those tough lies as well? What’s your experience?

For tough lies, I found the T100 a bit more challenging. The P770’s design makes it easier to get the ball airborne in tricky spots.

That extra help from the P770 sounds appealing. I wonder if anyone prefers it for short-game play?

The T100 allows for great work around the greens due to its precision. Definitely a more advanced tool!

In the end, it’s about what feels right for you. Both are solid choices, but I think your play style should guide the decision more than numbers. Reflect on what you enjoy most!

I’ve settled on the P770 because of its overall playability. Just remember, it’s always in your hands that the club will perform best. Happy swinging!

I’ve been looking into the P770s and T100s myself! The P770s have a sleek, modern aesthetic with their chrome finish, while the T100s offer a more classic look. Anyone have thoughts on which is better for visibility at address?

I think the T100s give a more traditional feel, but the P770s are so eye-catching! It really depends on your style preference. What do you prioritize more, looks or performance?

Great point about style! However, the T100s use a higher grade of steel and precise forging which might give better feel on impact. Anyone know if this really translates to improved feel on the course?

Definitely! The T100s do feel exceptional on impact. But, I’ve read that the P770s have a great sweet spot for more consistent shots. Which feature is more crucial for you?
