What’s the Best Golf in Palm Desert? Recommendations Needed!

I’m planning a trip to Palm Desert soon and I’m eager to hit some golf courses! I’ve heard so much about the golfing scene in that area, but I’d love to get some firsthand recommendations from folks who have played there.

Here’s what I’m looking for:

  • Top Public Courses: I’m not looking to break the bank, so any affordable but high-quality public courses would be great to know about.
  • Private Course Experiences: If anyone has insights on must-play private courses and how to access them, that would be super helpful.
  • Course Conditions: How are the greens and fairways during different times of the year? I want the best experience possible!
  • Unique Experiences: If there are any standout golf-related experiences in Palm Desert, like unique tournaments, events, or special amenities that courses offer, please share.

To give you an idea, I’m a mid-handicapper, so I’m comfortable with various levels of difficulty.

Any insights into the best golf spots would be greatly appreciated! Looking forward to your suggestions!

Thanks in advance!

Points to Consider:

  • Share your favorite courses and why you love them.
  • If you’ve played multiple courses, a comparison would be interesting!
  • Any food or lodging recommendations nearby would be a plus too!

If you’re looking for the best golf in Palm Desert, I’d recommend the Classic Club. The course design is stunning, and the conditions are always top-notch!

I totally agree! The Classic Club has such an inviting layout. If you like nice greens, this is definitely the place!

You can’t go wrong with Desert Willow Golf Resort either. Their Firecliff course is a challenge but absolutely beautiful to play on!

I’ve heard great things about the Firecliff course! How do the conditions hold up in peak season?

Conditions at Desert Willow are typically excellent year-round, even in peak season. Try to play early to avoid the crowds and heat, though!

I love the Palm Desert Country Club. It has a more laid-back vibe and the pricing is reasonable compared to other courses!

That sounds awesome, but how’s the course condition compared to the higher-end courses?

The conditions are good! It might not be as pristine as some of the luxury courses, but it’s a fun course for a casual round with friends.

For something unique, check out the Shadow Ridge Golf Club. The scenery is gorgeous, and the wildlife around can be quite a surprise during your round!

Wildlife sounds fun! What kind of animals have you seen while playing?

I’ve seen everything from rabbits to hawks! It’s a real treat, especially when you’re on the back nine. Definitely adds to the experience.

I’ll have to give Shadow Ridge a shot then! Thanks for the tips, everyone. This thread is super helpful!

If you’re looking for golf courses in Palm Desert, I’d recommend checking out Desert Willow Golf Resort. They have a top-notch practice range and a really nice pro shop. Plus, the dining options are fantastic after a long day on the course!

Just played a round at Desert Willow and completely agree! Their restaurant has some of the best burgers I’ve ever had. A perfect spot to unwind after your game!

I’ve heard great things about the Classic Club too! They have excellent practice facilities and the staff was super helpful with club rentals when I visited. Anyone else tried it?

The Classic Club is nice, but I found their pro shop a bit overpriced. I prefer to hit up the stores at Indian Wells Golf Club; much cheaper with good selections!

What do you think about the dining options at Indian Wells? I’m wondering if they’re better than Desert Willow’s. Anyone have a suggestion?

The dining at Indian Wells is decent! They even have a nice outdoor seating area overlooking the course. Great for post-round drinks!
