When's the Best Time to Golf in Scottsdale?

I’m planning a golf trip to Scottsdale and looking for advice on the best time to hit the courses. I’ve heard that November to April is prime time due to the weather, but I’d love to get some more insights.

Here are a few things I’d like to know:

  • Weather: What’s the typical temperature during these months? Are there any extreme weather issues to be aware of?
  • Course Conditions: How are the courses during this peak season? Are they generally in great shape?
  • Crowd Sizes: When does it get really busy? Are there specific weeks or weekends to avoid?
  • Pricing: Are there better deals during certain times, or should I expect higher prices?

If anyone has personal experiences or tips on timing for tee times and any must-play courses, I would greatly appreciate it! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

In Scottsdale, the best time to golf is generally from November to April. The weather is pleasant, with lows around 50°F and highs near 80°F. It’s perfect for enjoying the courses without the scorching summer heat.

I agree! The peak season does mean more crowds, but the atmosphere is lively, and you’ll meet tons of fellow golf enthusiasts.

Honestly, I’ve found late spring can be great too! The temps are still comfortable, and the courses are less crowded as high season winds down.

Great point! Late spring offers good value for money too, especially since rates drop post-April in some places.

Summer can be brutal here though! I try to avoid it unless it’s super early in the morning. Don’t forget your sunscreen!

Absolutely! I tried to golf last June, and I thought I was going to melt! But it can be cheaper then, if you’re tough enough!

I’ve always found the fall months nice for golfing as well. Fewer crowds than peak season but still great weather. A hidden gem!

Totally with you, Jennifer! The fall foliage also adds some charm to the courses. Not to mention less waiting around!

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the weekend crowds in peak season? Are they as bad as I’ve heard?

Yes, they can be pretty overwhelming! I’d recommend booking tee times in advance if you’re going during that time.

What’s the ultimate Scottsdale golf experience? I’ve heard that some courses offer stunning views and good dining options!

You’ll want to check out Troon North and Grayhawk for their beautiful settings! Golfing with a good meal afterward is heavenly.

In Scottsdale, the best times to golf are early morning or late afternoon. Temperatures can soar, so aim for tee times before 10 AM or after 4 PM for more comfortable conditions.

I completely agree! I often get out at sunrise – the courses are beautiful, and you beat the heat!

Afternoons can be less crowded too. I’ve found that if you wait until about 3 PM, you can often find excellent deals on green fees as well.

That’s great advice, bnavarro! Does anyone know if twilight rates are available? I’d love to save some money while enjoying the game!

Yes, many courses offer twilight rates! Usually, they start around 2-3 hours before sunset, which is perfect for catching the last bits of daylight.

And the evening sunsets are stunning! Plus, I think there’s a certain charm to playing when the sun is setting.

I prefer morning rounds due to the cooler temperatures, but I’ve found both times enjoyable. Just be sure to stay hydrated, no matter when you play.
