I played Hogan’s Alley last weekend, and I was impressed by how well the layout flows. The back nine is particularly challenging with some really tight holes. The design feels unique compared to other courses I’ve played.
I personally found the first few holes a bit easier, but the difficulty ramps up quickly. The par 4 on hole 6 had me scratching my head with its dogleg left. Definitely an interesting layout!
Has anyone else noticed the cool elevation changes throughout the course? It really adds a unique element to your shots, especially on the par 3s. Makes you rethink club selection for sure.
The bunkers are strategically placed to disrupt your line of sight. I found that pretty interesting, though frustrating at times! It forces you to play smart.
I enjoy the course, but I can’t help but feel some holes are excessively tough just for the sake of difficulty, especially towards the end. Ever encountered that feeling?
I played at Hogan’s Alley last month, and I loved the layout! The greens were fast and challenging, which really elevated my game. I’d love to hear what others thought about the course conditions.
Absolutely agree, shaun03! I felt like I improved my putting skills just by navigating those greens. What did you think of the bunkers? I found them a bit tricky.
The bunkers were indeed challenging! I found myself in them more than I’d like to admit. However, the scenery made it worth it. The views are stunning throughout the course.
I saw tons of birds too! Made for some great distractions while putting. Overall, a great experience with excellent facilities. Just wish the pace of play was a bit quicker.
I play there often, and the pace can indeed be hit or miss. I usually go early to avoid the crowds. Has anyone tried their food at the clubhouse? It’s surprisingly good!
A burger? Sounds delicious, might have to try that next time! Just be careful not to eat too heavy before playing; I made that mistake once and struggled on the back nine!
Haha, I can relate, amy18! I learned my lesson the hard way too. I was so full I felt like I was dragging my clubs along the course. What’s the hardest hole for everyone?
