What's the Best Golf Course in Tennessee?

I’m planning a golf trip to Tennessee and I’m really looking to enjoy some of the top golf courses in the state. Whether you’re a local or just someone who’s been fortunate enough to play in Tennessee, I’d love to hear your experiences and recommendations!

What to Consider

When recommending a course, consider:

  • Course Quality: How well-maintained is the course? Are the greens smooth?
  • Scenery: Are there any beautiful views or unique landscapes?
  • Amenities: What facilities are available? Is there a clubhouse? Food options?
  • Difficulty: What are the skill levels the courses cater to?

My Criteria

I’m especially interested in:

  • Courses that offer a good mix of challenge and enjoyment
  • Recommendations for any hidden gems that might not be as popular but are worth visiting
  • Feedback on prices and overall value

Let’s help each other find the best golfing spots in Tennessee!

I recently played at the TPC Southwind in Memphis, and I must say, it’s one of the best! The layout is challenging yet rewarding, with beautifully manicured greens.

I’ve heard great things about TPC Southwind! How does it compare to the ambiance at The Grove?

The Grove is fantastic! The scenery is gorgeous, and the course design is top-notch. I found it to be quite playable, even for a mid-handicapper like me.

Definitely agree about The Grove, odavis! It’s scenic and well-kept. However, I think Golf Club of Tennessee also deserves a mention for its historic links design.

I’ve played at the Golf Club of Tennessee too! It’s a bit tough for beginners, but the unique layout and the surrounding nature are just beautiful.

What about the difficulty level at these courses? I tend to struggle on tighter layouts. Any suggestions for more forgiving courses in Tennessee?

I’d recommend looking into Percy Warner Golf Course. It’s not overly difficult, and it offers lovely views of the surrounding park. Perfect for a relaxed day of golf!

Great suggestion, phillipscaleb! I’ve always enjoyed Percy Warner for its scenic layout and relaxed vibe. It’s a different experience compared to the more prestigious courses.

I’m curious about Chattanooga’s golf courses. Anyone tried the Black Creek Club? I’ve heard mixed reviews, so I’d love to get your take on it!

I’ve played at Black Creek, sarah96. The views are stunning, but some holes can be a bit tricky. I think it balances well between challenge and playability.

Do you all think the elevation changes at some of these courses add to the difficulty? I have mixed feelings about being on such hilly terrain!

Definitely, wwilliam! Hills can be challenging. But hey, if it gets me more steps in during a round, I can’t complain! Maybe I should take up hiking instead?

I would say the hilly courses can add character. But for pure fun, I still prefer courses that are flatter and offer fun risks without too much trouble!

I agree! Memphis Country Club has one of the finest practice facilities I’ve seen. Their driving range really helps to hone your skills before a round.

I’ve played at the Gallery Golf Club in Ashland City, and I must say, it’s a hidden gem! The views are stunning, and the social events they host are top-notch. Anyone looking for community should check it out!

Sounds intriguing! What about their membership options? Are they affordable for casual players like me?

Yes, Tasha! Gallery has flexible membership options. They cater to both full-time and seasonal players, which is great for those who might not play year-round. Plus, the community vibe is welcoming!
